About

The work has changed. The through-line has not.

I have spent twenty years building and operating the systems that turn strategy into repeatable execution.

Jared Wesley

Most of my career has been spent between the strategy conversation and the systems required to make it real.

People have come to me for the same thing for twenty years, whatever the job title said: look at a complicated situation and build a new process for it. A gun store launched on the wrong point of sale. A registration business with no repeatable onboarding. A staffing company credentialing by hand. A bankrupt platform with no documentation. An AI practice with no operating process around the technology. The domain changes. The work does not.

Today, I lead US go-to-market at Moxie. My focus is helping enterprise teams move AI and OutSystems programs from pilot to production. The hard part is rarely the demo. It is governance, security, architecture, delivery capacity, data, ownership, and the connection to the systems of record that run the business.

The longer arc is startup and SMB operations. I have rebuilt SaaS platforms, supported an eight-figure exit, co-founded an $11M healthcare staffing company, led technology across regulated public-sector products, and advised founders whose businesses needed stronger operating systems.

The common thread is simple. Strategy becomes valuable when a company can execute it repeatedly, learn from the result, and improve without depending on heroics.

Current work

Moxie

VP of US GTM

At Moxie, I lead US enterprise growth around OutSystems delivery, modernization, and production readiness. The work starts with practical constraints: architecture, security, platform health, delivery capacity, governance, and the controls required for AI-assisted development in regulated environments.

MyDevSolution

Founder and Principal Consultant

I founded MyDevSolution for startup and SMB work at the point where technology decisions and business operations begin to constrain each other. The work combines operating discipline, fractional technology leadership, process design, and practical delivery.

How I think about the work

Systems over heroics

A company should not require a few people to remember everything, approve everything, and rescue every deadline.

Evidence over adjectives

A useful claim has a number, a named person, a documented decision, or a visible result behind it.

Technology serves people

Tools should improve judgment, reduce avoidable work, and make the operating model easier to run. They should not add another layer of ambiguity.

Clear ownership beats consensus theater

Teams move faster when decision rights are explicit, the owner is known, and disagreement can end in a decision.

Adapt the practice. Preserve the purpose.

Methods, technology, and strategy should change as reality changes. Purpose and core values should be harder to move.

Execution is a discipline

Follow-through is not a personality trait. It is the result of priorities, capacity, cadence, information, and accountability working together.

Career record

The overlapping dates between 2015 and 2023 are one employer, not three. ProChamps, Blackside Tactical, and the products that became Community Solutions Partner were all businesses of the same holding company, Community Champions, which renamed after the 2019 ProChamps sale. Moving across its portfolio is why those roles run in parallel.

Hera Property Registry

Chief Technology Officer

Joined at founding and led technical vision, infrastructure, and product strategy for a PropTech platform serving government clients. When the sector's incumbent administrator collapsed into bankruptcy, Hera raised $300K in debt, acquired the assets out of the proceeding, and rebuilt the platform. During my tenure the company grew from 6 to 184 government contracts and from $125K to $2.9M in revenue in fifteen months, processed more than 22 million property records daily at 99.99% uptime, and converted every pilot into a contract with 100% client retention. Reduced technical debt by 30% using OutSystems Mentor code quality audits.

ProChamps

Software Development Director

Led technical operations during the rebuild of a legacy operation into a scalable SaaS platform. The client base grew from 44 to more than 300 municipal contracts, recognized revenue grew from roughly $800K to about $8.4M between 2016 and 2019, and the platform returned more than $45M in registration fees to local governments across my involvement. My role included the platform rebuild, delivery process, reliability, and technical support for due diligence through the company's eight-figure private equity sale in 2019, with the exit completing in 2020.

2015 — 2017

Blackside Tactical

Vice President

Given the capital and full vertical authority to launch a retail brand in another regulated market. Built the store, the team, the operating procedures, and an ATF-compliant point of sale from scratch, modeled the retail experience on the Apple Store, scaled the operation to $3.5M in annual retail revenue, and completed a sale to B&H in 2017. The law-enforcement relationships formed there, including FBINAA and the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, later seeded INTELLEO and PetChamp.

2010 — 2015

University of Michigan Medical School

Technical support and operations roles

Progressed from front-line technical support into managing the support operation for Medical School Information Services. The work formed an early operating principle that still holds: technology creates value only when people can use it to do their jobs better.

2006 — 2008

JD Consulting

Owner and operator

Started a small technology consulting company while still in school and supported local businesses with practical technology needs. It was the first formal version of work that still defines the career: understand the operating problem, then build the system around it.

Education

I studied economics at the University of Michigan and business administration and computer science at Michigan Technological University. The technical work taught me how systems behave. Economics taught me to ask what incentives, constraints, and tradeoffs are driving the behavior around them.

The JD name

JD has been my nickname for as long as I can remember. It also became the name of my first company, JD Consulting, founded in 2006. The JD corner mark connects that history to the work I am building now.
